How I Killed Internet Antivirus Pro 2009

Sometimes, it really sucks when you have to learn about something “old school” style. I just had a real learning experience from the school of hard knocks about rogue security tools. I caught Internet Antivirus Pro 2009, and fell for it, hook line and sinker.

To give a little background, I had heard of viruses and spyware. I had a pretty good idea what they were, and had all the top of the line free security programs. Until I got infected with Internet Antivirus Pro 2009, I didn’t know what a rogue security tool was. By the time all was said and done, I knew all too well.

I felt pretty secure in being able to download videos from a P2P (peer to peer, if you don’t know) file sharing group. I was looking for an old B-flick and came to a site that said they had it. I clicked the download button, and that’s how I got Internet Antivirus Pro 2009. So I learned later, anyway.

Now, I didn’t think too much about why a program I didn’t install on my computer was telling me that I had gotten an infection. I probably could have saved myself the trouble if I did. Internet Antivirus Pro popped up and told me that I needed a good security tool. My computer also wasn’t acting happy at all. I thought it was having a seizure or something.

I clicked on the link that the Internet Antivirus Pro window provided. I was taken to a website and was given a computer scan. It said that I had like 600 viruses! Again, if I had really thought about it, it might have occurred to me that my computer would have just keeled over with that kind of infection.

So naturally, at this point, I bit the hook when they said that the full version of Internet Antivirus Pro was what I needed. Obviously, my free programs weren’t doing the job, right? I felt kind of sick at the price, but when I had that kind of emergency, it had to be worth it.

Well, it wasn’t. I got the full version of Internet Antivirus Pro and I just kept having problems. I also got these random scans that totally messed up what I was doing. I also saw that I was charged twice for the program, and I couldn’t find a customer support number. It was only then that I realized what happened.

I called my credit company and told them to put a stop charge on Internet Antivirus Pro. I explained to them what happened, and they took care of one of them for a $25 charge. I was just out the rest since I approved the charge. Then I uninstalled it. My problems still didn’t go away. I still had random alerts.

I did a little research and found out what Internet Antivirus Pro really is. It’s a rip-off program called a corrupt security tool. It’s a bunch of spyware that cons you out of your money.

So I went straight to finding an antispyware program. I found SpyZooka, which had a 100% removal guarantee. It looked way more legit, so I got it and it killed Internet Antivirus Pro in minutes. I wish I had found it before I got infected!
